September 18, 2000. The painter got the car back from the Media Blaster. It looks really rough, but the good news is, there was no evidence of any repairs on the fiberglass anywhere.
October 12, 2000. The vette has been filled, block sanded, primered, and block sanded again. A couple more primer and sanding steps to go.
October 13, 2000. I am spending my days repainting the interior pieces. I would have just went ahead and bought new ones, but the price tag would be around $750. $100 for paint was a much better idea. This photo illustrates the before and after of the interior parts. I ordered seats from Al Knoch, and got everything ready to be put back in.
October 17, 2000. I had a hell of a time finding a front bumper cover that fit correctly. The original was in somewhat poor shape due to bug damage. I tried a fiberglass and a rubber replacement from Ecklers. Both were unsatisfactory. I ended up buying one from GM for $438. I will keep the rubber one I paid $100 for and make a garage piece out of it.
