March 2002. The front axle is back on and we can see just how much higher it is going to be with the SPOA lift by comparing it to the back.
We were going to try to just drop the rear axle and then weld on the new perches while it was still under the Samurai. We decided it was too close to the gas tank as well as being too much of a pain. We disconnected everything and worked on it in the driveway.
Here is the after picture of the lift completed, but with the stock wheels and tires. It is next to my brother's 4 runner which has 35 inch MT/Rs and a body lift.
April, 2002 I acquired a tow hitch from a friend of mine intending to build a bumper which I could mount a winch plate on. I also needed the ability to hook up a tow bar and drag it around. This was my first attempt and a couple of hours into the project I decided this wasn't going to work out how I intended. Too close to the ground and looking pretty poor.
