This 1986 Corvette is truly a testament to GM's durability -- this car has 331,204 miles and still runs and drives! Although it's definitely not the nicest '86, it's certainly not the worst either. The car has been repainted at least once, and is now showing a good bit of clearcoat peeling, as well as some fiberglass cracks from previous repairs near the antenna on the driver side quarter panel. A bra has been installed over the front bumper; expect the paint and bodywork underneath to be in less than very good condition. Believe it or not, this car shows a clean Carfax, although the last record is dated 2005. A good bit of the weatherstripping has rotted away on this car; the driver's window sweep is soft and in great condition with no cracks, although the passenger side is almost completely deteriorated. The rear hatch seal is above average, but still shows the typical corner breaks. Glass top looks to have been reconditioned and is in very good shape, showing no de-lamination or cracks. Factory wheels are still mounted on the car, and are faded with most of the clearcoat gone, but nonetheless are not showing any curb rash. This 1986 Corvette Z51 wears a set of BRAND NEW BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tires! Taillights are in good shape with no cracks. Interior is in average condition for a car of this mileage. The seats do not appear to be particularly bad, with the only heavy wear on the driver's exit bolster, and no rips or tears anywhere else. Original carpet is stained, faded, worn-out, and not very appealing visually; factory leather steering wheel cover is very hard and brittle, with many cracks throughout, now wearing a cover on top of it. Center console lid is deformed and does not latch. Door panels are wore out, not properly attached, and have had large sections reconstructed with duct tape. Dash pad is slightly above average, with just a few small cracks. The engine compartment of this car is not particularly clean or nice, but does have many original components still intact. The air conditioning system has been converted to R134a, but may or may not be functioning and blowing cold. Headlights are not working at this time. The previous owner claims that the original engine was replaced at 120,000 miles. Strangely enough, the only factory document that comes with this car is the rare original window sticker, which shows a price of $31,815. Gut it and replace the entire drivetrain for competitive racing, or be the envy of your local Corvette club when you tell them you have the highest mileage car! Factory features include Z51 Performance Handling Package, sport seats with power driver's seat, electronic climate control, power locks, cruise control, Delco-Bose cassette stereo, glass top (blue tint), rear defrost, two-tone paint, power windows, power steering, power brakes, power mirrors, power antenna, tilt-n-tele, ABS. 331K. $4,900. |
